Understanding of quality
The quality-management at FAU is based on a coordinated university-wide approach incorporating all faculties.
It is grounded on a 4-level model and four quality dimensions, which serve as reference points for the successful implementation of the concept in the sense of a coordinated cycle encompassing all control levels.
The mandatory implementation of this concept determined by the university board.
The 4-level-model includes all relevant areas of quality and regulation in teaching and study

The consideration of all four quality dimensions (1) quality-policy and -culture, (2) structural quality, (3) process quality and (4) result quality allow a closed coordinated circle of quality on all control levels.
Quality-policy and -culturebinding targets on all levels are guaranteed |

Process qualitycentral control processes in teaching and learning are presented in a clear form |

The quality dimensions connect FAU’s quality management with external criterions for system accreditation such as the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance (ESG) of European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, the standards of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany as well as the standards of the Accreditation Council. This enables FAU to link internal processes and external accreditation standards.
